The Centre of Excellence in Smart Manufacturing & EVT was established in 2024 as part of the Government of India’s push for Indigenous Technology Development. The CoE was set up with support from Siemens and Wipro, with Wipro serving as an implementation partner. The goal was to create a national-level research facility that integrates academia and industry, focusing on Industry 4.0, automation, and sustainable mobility. Within a short span, the CoE has built advanced research labs for students, researchers, and industry professionals as a platform for the integration between them for skill development and research initiatives.
